Summer course of Italian language and culture for American university students

 

The course is intended for students who want to learn, improve and/or perfect their knowledge of the Italian language and culture in a relaxed, stimulating and highly innovative environment, the Univesrity of Urbino, just a few kilometers from the Adriatic Sea.

During the course, students will acquire the necessary linguistic, socio-pragmatical and cultural skills to perform every day tasks independently and to handle academic studies effectively. The course will also enable students to get un understanding of the most interesting aspects of the Italian culture

The course is organized in July/August and January and lessons are in the morning from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., for a total of 20 hours per week. Lessons attendance corresponds to 7 ECTS, 1 extra ECTS can be obtained attending afternoon workshops, organized on demand. An attendancy certificate will be issued on demand to those who attended the lessons regularly (maximum 20% of absences).

The package cost includes:

  • accomodations;
  • meals;
  • a broad variety of afernoon and/or evening cultural activities (guided tour to Urbino, view of Italian movies, visits to agricultural and wine-producing farms, sport activities, etc.);
  • day-trips to towns of historical, artistic and cultural interest such as Gubbio, Assisi, San Marino, Ravenna, San Leo and other interesting places;
  • 3/4 day-trips at the weekend to Rome, Florence, Siena and Venice or elsewhere upon request
